The project touches on isotopia which are generated by the totalitarian/utilitarian power that shapes present conditions, non-places and its users called “society of spectacle”.

In a new world defined as ‘supermodern’, the concept of place and space are seperated and the place becomes a non-place which can only exist as long as it functions.

A shopping mall, a golf course, a holiday resort, a transfer centre, a zoo, a plant tower, an expo, a stadium, an amusement park, as single-funcitioned organisms of a pseudo world, generate the concept of non-place.

Park x criticizes non-place through a perfectly located grid layout which forms an analytical basis for positioning its 12 generators reflecting culture of excess. As an essential of supermodern, the mobility between the generators is derived from the conserved taxiways which are linked through a centrally located platonic form named “the ring”.

Park x confronts and exposes the individuals with their own reality by speculating the existing situation.

It uses the concepts of ‘speed and scale’ which generated by the world of ‘excess’ as its tool. The physical space of the world of excess is argued with the method of absurdity and exaggeration.

Park x, a model of a pragmatist approach, does not extract any data from its existing environment except infrastructure and source to obtain. It is purified from any place which has memories and has no effort to have any contact with surroundings.

The model is located in present Istanbul Ataturk Airport land however a relocation of park x does not make a difference in its criticism just as it represents one analytical model of numerous generator and grid combination.
