The project touches on isotopia which are generated by the totalitarian/utilitarian power that shapes present conditions, non-places and its users called “society of spectacle”.
In a new world defined as ‘supermodern’, the concept of place and space are seperated and the place becomes a non-place which can only exist as long as it functions.
A shopping mall, a golf course, a holiday resort, a transfer centre, a zoo, a plant tower, an expo, a stadium, an amusement park, as single-funcitioned organisms of a pseudo world, generate the concept of non-place.
Park x criticizes non-place through a perfectly located grid layout which forms an analytical basis for positioning its 12 generators reflecting culture of excess. As an essential of supermodern, the mobility between the generators is derived from the conserved taxiways which are linked through a centrally located platonic form named “the ring”.
Park x confronts and exposes the individuals with their own reality by speculating the existing situation.
It uses the concepts of ‘speed and scale’ which generated by the world of ‘excess’ as its tool. The physical space of the world of excess is argued with the method of absurdity and exaggeration.
Park x, a model of a pragmatist approach, does not extract any data from its existing environment except infrastructure and source to obtain. It is purified from any place which has memories and has no effort to have any contact with surroundings.
The model is located in present Istanbul Ataturk Airport land however a relocation of park x does not make a difference in its criticism just as it represents one analytical model of numerous generator and grid combination.
Imagine a tower where the flora takes over... A structure of duality formed by arches, which is sitting on the natural landscape condition but consisting manually put and fake configurated environment. An eden, consisting various trees and plants which can travel through the voids in slabs upwards and are there just to be showcased. Now relax, and let the spiral ramp to take you on a journey through the diverse vegetation.

'Trancity' aims to transfer and pump as much activity, dynamism and flow from the city as possible. It's a transfer center where users utilize from passenger tram and kiosk tram which both travel the whole site on a continous railway loop. The ground rising to two peak points called 'the ring' invites users to witness the showcased dynamic flow on the lowered groundlevel under it's large membrane cover.
12 selected habitats are now placed in their new environment. Preserved and then transformed hangars which have the carriers to travel long span are the perfect new home for the diverse species. These animals are not only taken away from their habitats, but also their immediate surroundings are brought with them. Fake topography, artificial landscape elements and reconstructed. Climatic conditions are also provided in order to maximize the environmental reality. Users can experience these habitats by the transparent façades creating an overlay of habitual variety.
